Gadget News – In the midst of financial pressure, Nokia may shot new revenue. Apple is often at odds over the issue of patents ultimately willing to pay a license to Nokia.
The deal was announced on Tuesday (14/06/2011). In an official statement received Kompas.com from Nokia, the two sides agreed to end all patent disputes and will withdraw all its lawsuit in court.
Apple is not only willing to pay a certain amount to Nokia in a one-time payment, but also pay ongoing royalties. However, the agreed value and the type of patent is not disclosed.
“We are very pleased, Apple is using Nokia’s licensors. This agreement indicates the leadership of the Nokia patent portfolio in the industry and made ??us focus on the next licensing opportunities in the mobile communications market,” said Stephen Elop, president and CEO of Nokia, said in a statement.
Currently, Nokia including patent holder of technology’s most lots in the telecommunications industry with more than 10,000 patents. Over the last two decades, Nokia poured raise about 43 billion dollars for research and technology development.
Nokia hopes the deal with Apple to provide a positive impact on the financial Nokia. Last week, Nokia got great pressure with the revised second-quarter earnings targets so that the value of its shares to fall to the lowest value in history.
