Hewlett Packard Choose Meg Whitman As Their New CEO

Gadget News - Hewlett Packard (HP), Thursday (22/09/2011), Meg Whitman appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer of the new. Meg Whitman (55) in place of Leo Apotheker, who has served for 11 months. HP also menunjuka Ray Lane becomes Executive Chairman of the Chairman so directs a greater role HP’s business.

Whitman is known as the man who raised so that eBay became the largest online auction site. He was the CEO who took eBay went public and pioneered e-commerce for small and medium enterprises. Nevertheless, Whitman had no previous experience in the business enterprise. He is more engaged in the consumer business.

Prior to eBay, he had worked in Haspro and Procte & Gamble. He has joined with HP since January 2011 as one member of the board after failing to advance to the Governor of California. One of the big chore is to restore investor confidence. Under the leadership Apotheker, the value of HP shares fell 47 percent.

In his first interview as President and CEO, Whitman said that she was not going to change strategy. HP still will continue Autonomous Corp. plans to acquire a business focus to software. Whitman also will continue its evaluation of HP’s personal computing business separate.

Many analysts are still dubious Whitman to lead HP transformation. Whitman was chosen because there is no possibility of internal cadres ready to become top leaders. Whitman expected to only be a temporary leader and not for the long term.
