In an interview at Nokia Connection 2011, Tuesday, Argenti said, “We will continue Ovi Store but going to rebrand it. We have started with developer.nokia.com. Then will re-brand Ovi store to Nokia Store.
Argenti said the purpose of re-brand is to maximize and simplify the architecture of the Nokia brand. Through re-brand it, then whatever the operating system used in Nokia devices, the Nokia Store acts as a stall application.
In connection with plans to launch Windows Phone, when asked whether the Nokia Store will be side by side with the Windows Marketplace, Argenti said, “No. It will be a store with Microsoft and will use the Nokia brand.” Furthermore, Argenti explained, “In the Windows device, there will be one store that was developed in conjunction with Microsoft and there will be stores with brand Nokia. We will also contribute to the operator billing connections so this is like a store for all devices.”
Argenti also stressed that Nokia will launch the Windows Phone in late 2011. Together with the planned launch of 10 Symbian-based smartphones and mobile phones low end, Windows Phone also became part of the three pillars of Nokia’s strategy to return to lead the market. So lets see the Next form of Ovi Store.
