Gadget News – Nokia has finally announced the first smartphone that uses MeeGo platform namely the Nokia N9 at Nokia Connection 2011 event in Singapore on Tuesday (06/21/2011). Nokia N9 introduces an innovative new design, by eliminating the home button and all done on-screen menus displacement. Everything is with a swipe aka sliding movement of a fingertip on the screen.

“With the Nokia N9, we want to design a better way of using a mobile phone. For this we innovate in the design of hardware and software. We changed our way of thinking of a home key to a simple movement,” says Marko Ahtisaari, Nokia’s Head of Design .
